“Socks Ties & Belts”

If I ever became a father…

My kid will know what it’s like to live with a real-life super hero…

Whose powers consist of peace, positivity, and poetry…

Creating a comic book bond showing how close we are while both characters grow together…

Collecting each numbered issue of quality time…

I would substitute their sadness with their favorite snacks and treat…

And I would only become a villain in their eyes when I enforce naps and vegetables to eat…

They’ll know my weakness is honesty…

Even though I added them to the family tree doesn’t mean they’ll automatically like broccoli…

They’ll probably inherit my ability of thinking logically…

As I attempt to remove any doubt from their path to prevent destruction…

They will become an architect of ambition and inspiration from my instruction…

Just so they’re aware how to build themselves into what they believe is best for them…

I just want my kid to win and never stop achieving…

Even as a baby, they’ll have a blueprint that benefits their upbringing…

Prioritizing communication over hesitation…

Therapy will be a necessity even if they’re currently happy…

We’ll game plan together how to avoid trauma and drama…

When it comes down to feelings we can always revise the format…

But the house temperature is non-negotiable so never touch the thermostat…

There will be the right dosage of discipline diverting them from dangerous dilemmas keeping them determined to accomplish their dreams…

Never sleeping on their potential…

They can rest peacefully fearless of the monsters under their bed because they know their father will handle all of them by any means…

If I ever became a father…

I’m going to encourage, support, and sacrifice whatever it takes to protect my legacy…

Holding a newborn baby in my arms with half of my DNA will be my best form of poetry to complete me…

A living and breathing love poem I helped bring into reality…

And now I’m a poetic parent for infinity…
